All CSs to Plant Trees on a Daily Basis Over the Next 6 Months After Tree- Planting Holiday

President William Ruto on Friday directed all cabinet secretaries to progress the planting of trees.

Ruto who spoke during a tree-planting exercise in Murang’a county, ordered all ministers to plant trees daily from Monday, May 13.

Rtuo clarified that the project would be done for the next six months and every ministry would be allocated specific days for planting trees.

“We are not just planting trees today, from Monday, this exercise will continue ministry by ministry daily,” Rtuo noted.

“For the next six months, every ministry will be in charge for a day for planting trees,” he added.

According to the head of state, the move was aimed at helping the government achieve its target of planting 15 billion trees.

The head of state noted the move would also help communities understand the significance of managing our environment. 

“We want our development to be on a sustainable basis, by making sure that as we develop with harmony with our environment,” the head of state revealed.
